Everyone and their mother is talking about Emerald Fennell’s latest film starring Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan, Saltburn. Literally. The film, set in England and revolving around Keoghan’s character gradually ingratiating himself into Elordi’s character’s family, has been the talk of the internet, thanks in part to its charismatic stars but in larger part thanks to a number of scandalous scenes that have left audiences shook.

Naturally, knowing all this, one TikToker named Ashley decided to watch the film with her parents over Christmas.

Fortunately for us, she recorded their reactions to the movie, including the bathtub scene in which Elordi’s Felix masturbates in the bath and Keoghan’s Oliver runs in after him and drinks up his sperm-filled bath water. Her parents’ reactions consisted of a lot of disgusted screams, and one “Jesus Christ!” before her dad stood up and left the room and someone else asked Ashley, “What the fuck?”

The disgusted noises got so loud that Ashley chided them for scaring the dog, to which her brother responded, “I’m scared!” Me too, bro, me too.

Another scene that shocked Ashley’s family was the “vampire scene,” in which we see a close-up of Oliver’s blood stained mouth after he performed cunnilingus on Felix’s sister while she was menstruating. This scene caused Ashley’s brother to yell in agony, Ashley’s mom to question her and Ashley’s dad to leave the room for a second time.

Then there’s the grave scene, in which Oliver masturbates on Felix’s grave (yes, Felix dies, sorry, spoilers), looking like he’s fucking the grave because it’s as close as he can get to fucking Felix. Upon seeing this scene, Ashley’s brother immediately shouted, “He’s gonna fuck the grave!” while Ashley’s mom chided her again, lamenting, “‘What happened to you on Christmas?’ I got scarred!” For his part, Ashley’s dad prayed that the movie would soon be over, eventually asking Ashley to fast forward. Ashley’s brother added that this was the “most grotesque thing I’ve seen displayed in media,” which Ashley very much doubted.

According to a final slide, Ashley’s family went for a walk afterwards and talked about how good the movie was and how they actually enjoyed it, which I’m going to need some actual evidence of.

Commenters were delighted by the video, with one person joking about “them scolding you like you directed the movie.” Someone else commented that “Saltburn is now a Christmas movie.” Others who still haven’t seen the movie were left even more confused over what it could possibly be about, to which my only response is that, as Ashley’s parents found out, it needs to be seen to be believed.
